Exchange Place Living History Farm is Kingsport’s tonic for today’s fast-paced life. The site was once a large farm that also served as a post office for the surrounding Eden’s Ridge community and a relay station along the Great Stage Road, where travelers exchanged horses, money, goods, and stories. Today, Exchange Place recaptures life in the mid-1800s with restored buildings, heritage animal breeds, and heirloom gardens.
The mission of Exchange Place Living History Farm is to preserve and interpret the heritage of mid-19th century farm life in Northeast Tennessee. A private, non-profit organization, Exchange Place is maintained and operated primarily by volunteers and is supported by donations, fundraisers, memberships, and grants.
