Those seeking a cure for “spring fever” flock to this vibrant festival where vendors from all over the region offer flowers, vegetable seedlings, native plants, herbs, garden accessories, and related crafts for sale. Spring Garden Fair also features children’s activities, such as the popular Tennessee Dancing Gourd spin-off, traditional music, and historic demonstrations like sheep-shearing, butter churning, and garden preparation that highlight springtime activities on an antebellum farm.
The mission of Exchange Place Living History Farm is to preserve and interpret the heritage of mid-19th century farm life in Northeast Tennessee. A private, non-profit organization, Exchange Place is maintained and operated primarily by volunteers and is supported by donations, fundraisers, memberships, and grants.
